The new ‘Exo Hub‘ is a place where staff can collaborate and create innovative digital solutions for Irish Life. The space can be used for a multitude of purposes, providing individual workspaces, touch down zones for informal meetings, plus areas for client presentations and events. Bespoke modular furniture was customdesigned for the central ‘Digital Hub‘ to allow the space to be easily cleared for events.
A large integrated Smart Screen was also installed, allowing for digital sharing of ideas and interactive brainstorming. The workplace is separated from the central Digital Hub by sliding glass doors and pivoting acoustic fins, operating as a visual and acoustic buffer between the areas when required. The space can accommodate multiple teams and contains equipment that allows quick and easy changes to the layout.
We also created a spacious reception area complete with modern lighting integrated into acoustic feature ceilings, which provides staff and visitors with a bright yet professional welcome upon arrival. This is a showcase environment for Irish Life and has the flexibility to cater for differing needs of the 30 staff members that interact within the space. Flexibility was a key focus with this project so multiple configurations were considered, along with adaptable furniture and writable wall glass.
We opted for an open layout to make use of natural daylight areas, coupled with custom-shaped workstations to promote team collaboration. The Informal Agile Space contains a mix of soft seating, low and high tables for staff members to socialise or work together in a relaxed environment.
