Young, energetic and respected in its industry, Nous Group is one of Australia’s leading management consulting firms. They decided to extend their offices in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne to a new community – creating Nous-branded coworking spaces for professionals who share the Nous ethos.
A pilot was established in the tenancy next to the Sydney CBD office. The vision for Nous House was a premium top-tier professional office, with the comforts of home but none of the distractions. We developed a kit of parts for the Sydney pilot, including a matrix of spaces from hot desks to collabarative areas. By adopting an agile framework we met the short four week build time for the Sydney space while also providing a spatial analysis for Nous’ shortlisted property options in Canberra and Melbourne.
Nous wanted Nous House to be aesthetically similar but physically separate from the consulting offices next door – with the opportunity for cross pollination between Nous House and Nous Consulting in shared areas.
For Sydney, we designed a space with a shared kitchen and collaboration areas, without compromising the security of the consulting space. Technology-enabled meeting spaces, hot desks and private offices, allow for flexible working while writable surfaces generate idea sharing. Floor lamps, greenery and residential-style fittings and finishes fulfil the ‘homely’ part of the brief.
Nous House is a professional and flexible coworking community, and a workplace their team can be proud of. And it connects them with leading influential thinkers and a new network of coworking peers across Australia.
