Fredrikson & Byron seeks cutting-edge space to attract talent
International law firm, Fredrikson & Byron represents “where law and business meet,” bringing business and entrepreneurial thinking to their work with clients. With their provocative, problem-solving mindset, they were looking for a new location for their Des Moines, Iowa office that would bring an elevated experience to their clients and employees.
The Minneapolis-based law firm partnered with Unispace to help them transition from a typical office design to a modern and polished space, with areas to support client-related activities, attract and recruit talent, and provide room for growth.
Unispace provides speed to market, cost reduction, and design transparency
Speed of delivery was a crucial component of this project, and one where we were able to exceed expectations. By leveraging our 3D modelling and visualization software, uniBIM, key stakeholders were able to see changes and make decisions, allowing us to progress quickly without sacrificing on quality.
Using the mass-timber construction and raw materiality as inspiration, Unispace created a sophisticated and unique space, moving away from the legal industry’s traditional template.
Custom millwork and planter details allowing natural greenery to thrive display Fredrikson & Byron's character. Equally sized private offices around the perimeter of the suite showcase an egalitarian approach to the workplace, and windowed doors to those offices pull natural light to the interior.
Various space types provide areas for different work styles and modes, including a focus room for refuge, an integrated library for organic touchpoints and collaboration, and a large conference room with retractable doors to support different functions and events.
