David Mutch joins Unispace as Principal, Strategy

David Mutch has joined our team as Principal, Strategy based in Sydney, to lead the strategy practice across Australia. We are delighted that our clients will benefit from David’s substantial international experience in workplace transformation and also his inquisitive yet scientific approach to innovation.

Recognised as a global thought leader in agile/activity-based working environments, David brings with him the benefit of over 20 years’ senior experience in world-class real-estate transformation. He draws on a considerable portfolio of skills spanning property, IT, change management and business process engineering to create proven productivity and cost benefits for projects of every size.

“David’s strong track record extends from the earliest strategic planning phases all the way through to delivery and post-occupancy studies,” says Charles Hales, Global CEO & Managing Director, APAC at Unispace. “This aligns perfectly with our own holistic Think, Make, Create methodology, which is just one of many reasons we’re excited to welcome him to the team.”

David previously spent 15 years at Accenture, most recently as General Manager of Property and Workplace in APAC. In addition to leading a team of 125 employees delivering a huge range of services to 5,500 Accenture employees across 6 countries, David supported the firm’s real-estate consultancy practice for multinational clients. While at Accenture, he delivered Australia’s first 6-star Green Star-rated building and an office which was an Interior Design Excellence Awards finalist. He has also held workplace leadership positions at Westpac, Incorp, The Star and NBN.

David is looking forward to continuing to evolve the concept of the workspace: “I’m interested in helping clients to see their workplaces as genuine assets, rather than liabilities. So I’m really pleased that my role includes research, innovation and product development, and I’ll be exploring future ways of working as well as leading-edge trends and technology.”
