Continuing a partnership and delivering a plant upgrade and expansion project.
Since 2012 we've worked with GE Healthcare in Cork, Ireland. We've successfully delivered site and plant capital expansion projects worth over €50 million during our partnership.
To meet market demand, GE Healthcare needed to increase production from 25 million units to 40 million units per annum. To do this, they introduced a new development facility, new terminal sterilization capacity, new compounding suite/high volume dispensary, CUB for PUW/WFI/ clean steam/Air, and tie-ins to current production lines. This allowed them to meet the increased demand, giving the plan an additional capacity of 20 million units while maintaining a high level of quality.
This €12 million plant upgrade introduced a new high-speed aseptic filling line and all associated utility and facility upgrades. The site upgrades also include an innovation center and amenity facility for 600 people--catering GE Healthcare's expansion and providing a dedicated workspace for product development and innovation. Following this project, our team was engaged to further help with capacity planning and future site upgrades.
