Principal Enza Parrella: talent will dictate the future of office spaces

Unispace Principal Enza Parrella recently joined Bisnow's 4th Annual Chicago Creative Office event to share her insight into the future of the workplace.

Enza leads our design team in the USA’s Midwest region. She joined ESD president Kurt Karnatz, Sonoma Construction president Jon Runquist II, JC Construction president Michael Yazbec, Nelson principal Gary Miciunas, Tishman & Speyer senior director Amy Preston and Bear Construction EVP Scott Kurinsky.

Together they discussed how technology will continue to influence advancements in the workplace, recent lessons learned by designers and end users and whether the actual space even matters.  The event drew an engaged crowd of over 500 design, construction and real estate professionals.

Enza remarked that "today’s offices aren’t real estate plays - they’re about the people." She sees the work from home trend fading with workers returning to the workplace.  She added that mutual mentoring between senior and junior talent will help evolve the next phase of workplace environments as it gives everyone a say in how an office is designed.
