Unispace wins at the 2023 RICS Awards, celebrating teamwork and excellence.
The annual RICS awards recognize industry leading achievements across the built and natural environments globally. Showcasing the highest standards in professionalism, teamwork and innovation, the awards set the benchmark within the construction industry.
Unispace was awarded for our work with Arup, in designing and delivering their new Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland workplace, housed within a restored heritage building and targeting the world’s most stringent sustainability accreditation, Living Building Challenge. A testament to the talent, dedication and excellence of the project team, this award is well-deserved!

Arup’s workplace sets the highest standards for sustainability, health, and resilience. The team achieved incredible outcomes including:
- 99% of waste produced was diverted from landfill
- 90%~ of materials free of toxic ingredients, fostering a healthier work environment free of toxins
- 50% of materials sourced locally within New Zealand, minimizing transportation impacts and supporting local economies
The project demonstrates how investing in sustainable design and performance targets benefit organizations as highly as our built environment.
