Red Hat’s open source products connect data, applications, APIs, and devices. Integrating this technology across enterprises is key to business transformation, connecting how things are and how they could be. Red Hat creates technology that plays well with others.
In order to support their aspirational product offering and business expansion, Red Hat partnered with our team to design and deliver the fit-out of an additional floor of their office in Milan.
Red Hat’s internal workplace project to encourage flexible working, ‘Work Your Way’, closely connected with our design. Seating is unassigned and settings are focused on activity-based working, so employees are encouraged to use resources available in a way that works for them, maximising their productivity. Taking the original brief, we organised key stakeholder interviews which informed a layout filled with several support spaces catering to multiple work requirements.
Incorporating Red Hat’s primary colour palette, we created multiple work settings which would suit their team needs. Use of playful wayfinding solutions across walls and as manifestation also echo the brand culture. The heart of the office is the town-hall meeting space with tiered seating, located at the entrance of the workspace. A variety of connection spaces for both in-person and virtual meetings, including phone booths, central meeting rooms and informal meeting enclaves balance the full open plan configuration, providing areas for privacy and work requiring focus.
Creating a balanced workplace supporting both focus and collaboration, the result is lively, placing importance on brand, space and mobility. The resulting space reflects the ethos of Red Hat, pushing their workplace boundaries within EMEA collaboratively between 'Work Your Way' and our full methodology solution.
