VaynerMedia

Enterprising global creative and media agency, VaynerMedia, led by Gary Vaynerchuk, receives a highly creative, "destination office" as their Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.

New eclectic workspace aligns with VaynerMedia's truly consumer-centric storytelling engine.

VaynerMedia engaged Unispace to design and build a new Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, incorporating local cultural influences while paying homage to their New York heritage, brand, and story.

Time was of the essence due to an imminent multi-level shophouse lease expiry, with priority placed on finding a new building with character to reflect the VaynerMedia brand and a single floor to bring teams together and compete for top talent.  Unispace engaged stakeholders through early conversations and conducted fast, short, agile workshops to define their requirements.

The creation of a 'Maker Space' environment was essential – that is, to have spaces that enabled the convenient production of social media content, just as employees had at home during Covid. Furthermore, it was critical to create a space that built on the creative spirit and fast-paced nature of a media and creative agency, that also caters to vast and rapid expansion if necessary.

Collaborative design approach delivers a Singapore Kampong / New York design fusion.

VaynerMedia selected 1557 Keppel Road as their new work and community space. Leveraging the warehouse-style blank canvas this building provides, with its seven-meter-high ceilings, and abundant natural light, the Unispace Design team set about designing the optimal work environment in collaboration with this highly creative, highly dynamic client.
Design inspiration was gathered from the juxtaposition of Singapore’s landmarks and VaynerMedia’s New York City homebase as a way to help inform the concept translation into a design idea. Meeting rooms are uniquely themed based on Singapore’s cultural places, each supporting different work activities that are undertaken in the office.   For instance, the boardroom embodies a formal Raffles colonial theme, while a Haji Lane-style small collaborative space provides a more relaxed setting for brainstorming.
At the heart of the office is 'The Stage,' a vast, multi-functional space that can transform from a working breakout and collaboration area to an event space that hosts inspiring speakers or welcomes all-day workshops. The pantry area and breakout spaces that wrap around 'The Stage' provide tiered sight lines that allow the area to grow out or for people in these spaces to freely watch from the outside.

Local artists created bespoke murals and non-fungible tokens that are leveraged across internal screens. A full commercial grade production studio is located on the second floor for creative content development and production. Carefully selected furniture supports the eclectic and non-corporate brand personality, and are mixed with upcycled pieces that minimize waste.

A central community for creatives with agility to support business growth and industry changes.

The construction phase of the project saw the Unispace team take the bare space and, using our lean construction method, convert it into the jewel in VaynerMedia’s Asia Pacific presence.

The industry-style building’s blank canvas had minimal MEPF services (mechanical, electric, plumbing and fire protection) which saw the need for Unispace to partner with their providers to upgrade these services while ensuring the design expectation was not compromised and superior functionality was incorporated to support the business's needs.
VaynerMedia's new Singapore office provides the best creative talent in the region with an environment that is an asset to their everyday activities, while also enhancing their ability to collaborate with clients, industry and influencers.
