Located on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, WeWork’s new office space was completed in April 2016. This site encompasses a three storey fit-out over 65,000 sq.ft within the Sony Centre complex.
Understanding the client’s culture is important in every project. We integrated European sourced materials and products to continue the WeWork culture in this new city location, with stylistic fittings that are appreciated by the young ‘Berliners’ who were to become regulars at the location.
Our team were specific with particular tiling styles and patterns, and engaged graffiti artists to create installations which were integrated into various spaces.
With almost daily design workshops, we actively involved WeWork throughout every phase of the project.
This resulted in a deep understanding of their culture and member base, allowing us to seamlessly deliver the coworking space within a tight timeframe.
Within six months, we simplified the delivery process of this complex project with multiple stakeholders using our Think Create Make methodology. This enabled more efficiency, synergy and collaboration in the project approach and outcome.
The fit-out was designed in response to a new attitude of doing business: to create a club environment with common, shared spaces enabling engagement and collaboration.
WeWork appointed Unispace for the detailed design, construction, specification and project management.
