Featuring strategy, design and project delivery by Unispace Auckland team members, Ben Van Arts, Matthew Hill and Sarah Langford, Cubro Head Office has been awarded the 2016 Tauriko Business Estate Design Award.
Celebrating excellence in design and construction, each year the awards recognise built environment innovations at the Tauriko Business Estate in Tauranga. In honouring the project, the organisers said: "The building could hold its head high on an international stage and is something to be truly proud of."
For over 33 years, Cubro has been enhancing the quality of life for older people and people with disabilities by providing cost-effective and innovative equipment solutions to the healthcare industry.
The project team created a flexible environment designed to engage, empower and inspire the Cubro team and unlock their potential. A range of flexible meeting spaces equipped with technology supports different work styles and are combined with communal areas with special acoustics and intimate focus hubs.
"Crafting mobile workspaces for Cubro's mobility focus underlined our approach to the design of the new space," explains Design Director Sarah Langford. "No one has an assigned desk. Executives can sit anywhere they like and most choose to be with their teams. When they need to entertain clients they use the 'club space', a first class lounge experience with kitchen, bar and meeting room."
Complementing the new agile environment and Cubro's healthcare industry focus, the workplace is focused on enhancing employee wellbeing with chef-prepared healthy food options provided each day and an in-house gym.
