Russell McVeagh and Meridian Energy have secured two of the top three places in the highly contested Workplace over 1,000sqm category at the 2025 Interior Awards.
The Interior Awards celebrate the best of New Zealand interior design, across sectors ranging from workplace and healthcare to retail and hospitality. As finalists, the project teams present to the jury, diving deeper into the design concepts, solutions and processes involved in bringing their project to life.

Russell McVeagh, Wellington
Top-tier law firm, Russell McVeagh, took the opportunity to refresh their Wellington-based practice occupying three floors within a prominent CBD building. Creating a long-term home that supports sustainable business growth, productivity and a premier client experience were the key drivers. A bold move eliminating traditional perimeter offices, adopting a modern day-office approach. Meridian Energy, Wellington
A celebration of regeneration and authenticity. Meridian Energy's Wellington HQ is a genuine representation of their values and mission. Targeting the ambitious Living Building Challenge sustainability accreditation, the workplace brings a new lease of life to the Old Bank Arcade - an 120-year-old architectural heritage icon. Achieving incredible statistics including 95% of waste diverted from landfill, the project sets the benchmark for authentic sustainable workplaces - learn more here.
After presentations to the jury in May, the winner will be announced at the Interior Awards evening on Thursday 26 June 2025.
