Celebrating the 'best of the best', the Designers Institute of New Zealand have shortlisted Unispace for 9 awards in this year's Best Awards across four spatial design categories.
The Best Design Awards have been celebrating the best of graphic, spatial and product design annually since 1998. Unispace is excited to have six projects announced as finalists in the categories of Office & Workplace, Healthcare & Wellbeing, Lighting Design and Colour Award. This shortlist reflects the success of our unique methodology alongside the traditional and Design & Build models in delivering exceptional, complex commercial fit-outs.
Congratulations to our 2021 finalists:
Office & Workplace
- QIC, Melbourne: bringing QIC's new way of working to life, this 1,250sqm design has redefined the workplace experience for employees and clients.
- ServiceNow, Melbourne: a future-proofed workspace for one of the world's fastest growing and most innovative software companies. ServiceNow's Melbourne office applies their global space formula yet connects staff and customers to the local culture through design finishes, bespoke elements and artworks.
- RocketWerkz, Commercial Bay: this is a workplace that has to be seen to be believed. A premier gaming studio and workplace in the penthouse levels of Auckland's tallest commercial tower. The lighting element of this design is particularly unique and adds to the immersive, gamified experience.
- Jarden, Commercial Bay: an elegant, timeless design for the investment firm's 1,350sqm workplace fit out. Lighting plays a special part in the design of the workplace, layered throughout the space in all forms, illuminating feature finishes and artwork.
- Unispace Auckland Studio: one of the first built examples of a post-Covid workplace and demonstration of the future of work. Technology, hospitality and collaboration come together in a design that transforms the workplace experience.
Healthcare & Wellbeing
- Auckland Spine Surgery Centre: this Surgery and Prosthetics Centre shows how healthcare is evolving and learning from other industries to create improved experience-led environments for patients, doctors and technical professions.
Lighting Design
- RocketWerkz, Commercial Bay
- Jarden, Commercial Bay
