Reimagining the way we work
How do you see the workplace changing?
We know the workplace will look different post Covid-19. Flexibility and agility will play prominent roles in the future, with organisations providing more choice and autonomy for the employees. Success and productivity will no longer be measured on having rows of desks filled, rather it will be around coming together to collaborate where it makes the most sense and meet where clients need them.
Workplaces will need to have the right settings and spaces, taking into account where staff do work, how they do work, and making sure the right tools and technology are easily accessible. As many workforces continue to work fully remote, office design will to change to create a destination for staff so they want to come in, but not feel like they have to come in.
“I think it’s really important we see the workplace as a destination. Moving forward it’s really a human centric approach, and focusing on your people.”
How can workplace design drive people back into the office?
Creating a destination workplace is going to revolve around three things:
- Community building and bringing to life brand and culture
- Problem solving and outcomes-based working in face-to-face settings
- Innovation and ideating to stay ahead of the curve
How are spaces being designed to match work typologies?
In the future we expect more variety for setting and space types, however it won’t be a one size fits all. We’ve been working with our clients to capture how many people are coming back into the office, their personas, and their workflows to create unique frameworks for their business. This model outlines parts of a kit that are flexible and adaptable so they can choose the right settings and the right spaces for groups of people to have curated experiences.
“As we look forward, planning and organising is a lot more complex. Companies will need to create the right settings, the right space, and bring the right people together for periods of curated time.”
