Harbour Cancer & Wellness is a specialist cancer treatment and wellness center that integrates cutting-edge treatments with exercise and wellness therapy to provide the best possible clinical outcomes and rehabilitation.
After working with Harbour Cancer & Wellness on the upgrade of their North Shore treatment and rehabilitation center, Unispace were engaged to design and deliver their Newmarket clinic.
The center is split into two separate areas - a treatment facility with an open day-stay area with large treatment chairs, adminstration rooms, and private doctors offices.
The wellness and rehabilitation area is intentionally accessed via a separate entrance, helping patients feel like they have moved into a different stage of their journey. This space holds a gym, physio, massage room and therapy consult rooms.
As a specialist healthcare facility, the patient's journey was highly considered throughout the design process to create a safe and calm environment. The color and material palette was thoughtfully chosen to evoke warmth and welcome through oak, soft pastels and pinks. This creates a comfortable environment, a contrast to traditionally sterile hospital environments most patients would associate with cancer treatment.
The project was completed on-time and on-budget, with construction completed within 15 weeks.
