Ensuring employees and client safety during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

With our new ‘Safer Together’ initiative, our goal is to create a culture of safety that will have a profound impact on the way every single Unispace employee thinks about safety and how our actions impact others.

As we have all seen, the COVID-19 crisis has amplified the focus on health and safety, placing it top of mind. We know that the best way to move forward in this ‘new normal’ is when we are all pulling in the same direction, looking out for each other, and making everyone’s safety the highest priority.

This company-wide program aims to ensure the well-being of all our employees and clients during the COVID-19 outbreak, while laying the foundation for a heightened and ongoing commitment to safety post-pandemic. While safety has always been a top priority at Unispace, the COVID-19 crisis has required the implementation of strict new protocols to guarantee the health of all workers and visitors to our construction sites and offices. By increasing our focus on what works best in this ever-changing, uncharted landscape and by expanding our safety management team through a series of strategic hires, we are already seeing the boost to our site capabilities, ensuring that our clients’ projects continue unhindered while providing peace of mind.

The ‘Safer Together’ initiative is purposefully designed to infuse increased safety measures in every aspect of the design and construction process and at all levels of our organization. As part of the new initiative, we will provide additional health and safety training to the global team, ensuring these policies continue long after the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us.

A key component of ‘Safer Together’ includes a significant concentration on following and sharing best practice safety measures on all construction sites, as safe construction sites are critical for reducing the spread of COVID-19 and maintaining productivity within Unispace and the economy as a whole. These key measures ensure the health of all employees and clients on site and help to keep projects on track by minimizing the risk of delays and setbacks due to an outbreak.

Through the development of a COVID-19 response plan, daily pre-arrival temperature checks and staggered site arrival times, we can better mitigate potential incidents before anyone steps onto the site. Once on site, an abundance of personal protective equipment is available and social distancing protocol enforcement will maximise site hygiene. Daily deep cleaning will further protect everyone from exposure and allow employees to return home to their families with minimal concern.

At the end of the day, the health and safety of our employees and clients and their loved ones are our primary concern. All of us at Unispace know that the best way to run a business is to put our people first.

We are all in this together, and in order for the Safer Together initiative to reach its full potential, we must remain vigilant in our efforts to minimize the spread of COVID and protect the most vulnerable of our population. Read more on our site safety procedures here.
