MBA NSW Excellence in Construction Award Win
We're excited to announce Unispace has won in the Site Safety - Commercial project category for this year's Master Builders Association NSW Excellence in Construction Awards.
For our teams, whether on site or in studio, safety is top of mind. Our Delivery Excellence behaviours are embedded into our ways of working - and we're committed to ensuring our team, clients, and subcontractors, feel safe and in-the-know.
As part of our global dedication to delivering our methodology with care, attention to detail and defect-free, we have introduced a comprehensive set of Site Safety guidelines - to reflect a perfect site set-up.
Alex Brownlie, Regional Safety Manager, APAC said "at the forefront of Unispace's priorities is safety; ensuring everyone leaves work as safely as they arrived.
Rolling out Site Safety guidelines not only ensures the safety of those involved but enables our people to follow best-practice legislation and codes of practice. Our guidelines explicitly detail how a site should be set up and carried out - minimising room for any potential incidents".
We've created our Site Safety guidelines so that anyone, anywhere can access them. Our teams can access the guidelines digitally, through our online project management technology, or by picking up a hard copy in one of our Unispace studios.
"We've been able to streamline how our site teams' access our Site Safety guidelines. With Unispace working across strategy, design and delivery, it's critical up-to-date information and policies are readily available - so nothing falls through the cracks," said David Burke, Principal, Delivery in Sydney.
David says, "thanks to our Site Safety guidelines, we were able to deliver 28 in-flight projects on time, on budget, and with zero defects in the last 12 months, including 9 projects during the peak of Covid-19.
Having a solid foundation of site standards, enabled our teams to maintain safe and productive construction sites during the pandemic - a true testament to the team."
Efforts are made to improve our safety performance each year, and as a global business, we're constantly adapting and sharing best practice measures from our sites around the world.
