Unispace's Adelaide studio sets new standards for collaboration

At Unispace, we’re in the business of enabling collaboration, so communication is key to our success. So, when businesses like Beach Energy, MIGA and Kaplan Business School called on us for our expertise, we recognised the importance of having dedicated local teams to drive the projects.

The team at our Adelaide studio on Pirie Street works collaboratively with our broader Australian and global team, drawing on our experience delivering over 3,000 quality projects in 108 cities around the world.

“At Unispace we see ourselves as one team. Communication is key to our success, whether through Skype meetings or travel to our other studios,” comments Adelaide-based Senior Designer Katrina Povey. Having worked in workplace design for most of her career, she understands it isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. “I enjoy engaging with our clients to create new workplaces that encourage them to collaborate and innovate, while taking their requirements and working styles into account.”

Design Associate Lena Fenwick says she is excited by the opportunities for technology to change workplace design in South Australia.

“Employers recognise a well-designed office environment can boost morale, wellbeing and productivity,” she explains. “Adelaide is a small city where everyone needs to contribute – there is no flying under the radar! So it’s great being able to contribute in a positive way, through our ability to create a more dynamic or advanced workplace.”

Unispace's Global CEO, Gareth Hales reflected on the Unispace methodology and its place in the Adelaide market, stating: “Unispace’s delivery model is quite unique in Adelaide, as a dedicated design and construction company, where the designers and builders are working together in the same office and for the same company.”

Operational presence, wherever you need space

Our expanded presence across the Asia-Pacific region means our teams are able to set up operations quickly to meet client demands and expectations – including adapting to local nuances and ways of working. And no matter where those projects are, they’ll be delivered to a high standard through our proven methodology, from strategy to design and delivery.

In 2018, Unispace opened two new studios in Singapore and Hong Kong, to complement our regional presence in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to completing projects in China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, regional teams have recently delivered the award-winning Bank of New Zealand in Auckland.

“Unispace’s integrated methodology brings all our disciplines together with the client at the centre, adds Jaime Salisbury, Client Relations Principal. “This mitigates risk, and guarantees the outcome is consistent with our shared objectives.”
