We’re delighted to announce our recent Gold Award from the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for exceptional health and safety practices in 2020.
The recognition reflects our continued commitment and industry leading performance, including unfaltering attention to occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error.
"We’re extremely proud to have achieved this accolade in EMEA, particularly during such an unpredictable period in 2020. We set ourselves industry leading targets in 2019 to ensure we were at the forefront of health and safety practices as a business for our colleagues and clients alike. It is therefore hugely rewarding to see our team’s considerable and consistent efforts recognised in this way"
Lawrence Mohiuddine, Managing Director, EMEA
Safer Together
Last year, we launched the Safer Together initiative: a programme designed to more closely align increased safety measures throughout every aspect of the design and construction process, at all levels of the organisation.
The result? Over 250,000 hours recorded with no incidents across the region.
Minimising risk and maximising the protection of our delivery and construction teams feeling safe on job sites, ensures our clients feel confident and reassured throughout their partnership with Unispace.
Health and safety has always been a top priority. More recently, the Covid-19 pandemic prompted us to re-confirm our protocols to ensure even more granular attention to our people’s safety. We quickly adapted to new government restrictions, observing social distancing rules and reduced trades on-site each day. Additional PPE, hygiene safety and temperature checks also became part of everyday routines.
Delivery Excellence in action
For Coty in Amsterdam, we delivered the new headquarters of the international beauty company during the Covid-19 pandemic. The relocation of their headquarters from New York to Amsterdam was planned well in advance of the Covid-19 lockdown and, thanks to our meticulous delivery planning, local presence and close relationships with in-market contractors, was able to continue to successful completion.
What’s next?
The coming years will see Unispace concentrate on continued proactive communication with stakeholders across all our sites, as well as providing teams with bespoke health and safety training. Our EMEA Health & Safety team will continue to work closely with our teams to ensure we complete all our projects safely and on-schedule.
