Meet Claire, our new Chief Administration Officer

Unispace welcomes Claire Shepherd as new Chief Administration Officer.

We spoke to Claire to learn more about her passions and experiences and what drew her to Unispace. Claire joins us from UK government trading fund FCDO Services, bringing a wealth of hands-on knowledge in optimising global operations and supporting business operations effectively.

Welcome to the team, Claire! What attracted you to Unispace and this role?

The passion and excitement of the people I met during my interview process: their enthusiasm was contagious. Unispace is a dynamic company that is growing rapidly and expanding across the globe. With my experience in global operations, I’m sure I can add a lot of value to the organisation in this role.

What are you looking forward to doing once you get your feet under the desk?

I’m really looking forward to better understanding how the organisation currently thrives, and how I can support in taking it to the next level. Understanding our current and future merger and acquisition opportunities is also a key starting point. Unispace is already a global leader in the market and I can see real opportunities to grow even more.

Tell us a bit about your experience. What are you bringing to this role?

Over the course of my career, I’ve successfully completed several organisational transformations and driven highly profitable strategic changes. With a background that started in facilities management and then moved to broader commercial and operations, I worked my way up the proverbial Commercial ladder over the years, working for real estate giants like Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE, as well as professional services firm Deloitte. By paying attention to small details and understanding how to achieve organisational goals, I’ve developed my ability to see the bigger picture and understand how to make organisations run optimally.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I would say my leadership is about understanding people focusing on coaching and vision. The key element to drive any organisation to grow successfully is to identify the importance of every single member of the team. As a people-oriented leader, I think work culture is vital to guarantee the company’s success. I believe in creating an environment where employees feel appreciated and motivated enough to invest personally in the success of the business and work at their highest possible levels.

Lastly, tell us a little bit about your life outside work – what are you passionate about?

Fitness, puzzles and wine: these are my passions. I love being active by consistently exercising, spinning and running during the week. When it comes to relaxing my mind, I enjoy entertaining my brain with puzzles to unwind and reset from busy days. Last but not least, wine is one of my biggest passions. After working for a wine warehouse at the beginning of my working life, I’ve always enjoyed educating and learning about wine.
